Spotlight on Belize

As one of the fastest-growing countries in Central America, Belize City is a perfect fit for our operations. It offers an educated English-speaking population, reliable telecommunications and an overall friendly environment. With Spanish being the second language of Belize, we can offer highly qualified bi-lingual call center agents.

Belize is a culturally diverse nation linking the United States, Caribbean and Central American markets. Surrounded by countries heavily influenced by Spanish culture and language, Belize stands out against the rest of Latin America, bearing more similarity to the US and Caribbean island states.

Belize is bordered by Mexico on the North, Guatemala on the west and south, and the Caribbean Sea on the east. A large portion of the mainland is sheathed in protected jungle, creating some of the world's most beautiful flora and fauna reserves. The Belize Barrier Reef is the longest in the Western Hemisphere and the second longest in the world after the Great Barrier Reef. Three of the four coral atolls in the Western Hemisphere are located off the coast of Belize.

Belize's economy depended on forestry until well into the 20th century. The wood was prized for use in cabinets, ships, and railroad carriers. When the supply of accessible timber dwindled and logging became too unprofitable in the 20th century, the country's economy shifted to new sectors. Cane sugar became the principal export and recently has been augmented by expanded production of citrus, bananas, seafood, apparel, and travel.

Although much of Belize remains undeveloped, a fair amount of growth has allowed it to be named a burgeoning business destination. Belize City is the largest, with a labor force of around 90,000 and is the country’s principal port. Located at the mouth of the Belize River and on the coast of the Caribbean Sea, Belize City is a destination for multiple cruise ships, all of which are maintained and managed by locals.

IMAG0286Travel to and from Belize can be done quite easily. Major airlines such as American Airlines, Delta and United service Belize on a daily basis. The connection hubs are Miami, Florida or Dallas for American Airlines, Atlanta, for Delta and Houston for United. The flight from Miami to Belize is under 2 hours, the flight from Atlanta is about 2 hours and 15 minutes and the flight from Texas to Belize is approximately 2.5 hours. When arriving in Philip S.W. Goldson International Airport (BZE), there are car rental facilities as well as local taxis. The commute from the airport to downtown Belize City is less than 20 minutes.

Citizens from the United States do not require a visa to visit Belize.  Travelers must have a valid passport and an onward plane ticket for a 30-day Visitor’s Visa to be issued upon arrival in country. A combination of factors—climate, the Belize Barrier Reef, 127 offshore islands, excellent fishing, safe waters for boating, scuba diving, and snorkeling, support the thriving tourism and ecotourism industry.
